Yay!

Bulls draft Rose; TYIers place pig's blood, "Die, Pax, Die!" signs back in storage.

But of course, because Pax has to ruin everything, he says the Bulls will be "cautious" with Rose development. I'm fine with being "cautious" about rushing to deliver final judgments about Rose during his first year. (Even his first two years.) Deron Williams, you'll recall, struggled mightily throughout most of his first year, and it's unrealistic to think Rose will just jump into the league, ready to dominate.

But, no, do not be "cautious" with his development. Give him the minutes and let him lead the way. Show him all the beauty he possesses inside. Give him a sense of pride. And trade Kirk Hinrich the fuck awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

when Pax was asked if he envisions Rose in the starting lineup on opening day Pax was evasive... i just hope that "cautious" isn't code for I'm keeping Hinrich or nobody would trade for him. Hinrich must go to free up minutes for Rose.

It seems to me--as if I'm a mind-reader--that Pax is just deflecting future criticism if Rose struggles out of the gate (having less college experience than both Paul and Williams). I don't think (or am hoping) that nothing will keep Paxson from entertaining valid trade offers for Hinrich, and if that happens, Rose will almost definitely be the starter opening night. I hope.

Basically, I just wish Pax were stressing "patience" with Rose's development, not "caution."

I am hoping he starts opening day! No sense in letting him rot on the bench like Tyrus had under Skiles and Thabo. I read on SI that the Clippers maybe targeting Hinrich.
