Whee!!!

Doug's Slugs no more! I am sad to hear about Flip's feelers getting the cold shoulder, but the man has so much style it's wasted on the denim clad Paxson.

(Link via someone else's feelers.)

Flip looks like he was in the same AA group with Boylan.

And then whats up with his suit he looks like he jacked it from Tree Rollins! Dude needs a tailor.

i think doug collins refused to take the job when the Bulls organization informed him of their intent to draft Michael Beasley instead of Derrick Rose

On that note... Here's an interesting conspiracy theory. What's the hallmark of a Riley team over the last 30 years? A dominant offensive big man. Kareem, Ewing, Shaq. And always paired with a strong guard and a caretaker point guard (ok, except Magic, whose greatness made him beyond definition.) So do you think it is more likely that Riley wants to run a loaded backcourt with journeyman bigs, or take the best big in this draft? Any chance you think he's trying to game Pax into a Rose pick?

And Collins is out. Boy, did people get worked up about that one...

word on the streets in Miami is that Riley loves Rose. They traded away Shaq last year for Marion who is their offensive big man, now it is a point guard that the Heat need (They can keep marion, Tyrus schools him man to man) . In addition frustration over Jason Williams poor play and concerns about Wade's longevity point to the Heat wanting/needing a point guard and likely coveting Rose... They arent floating the rumor about trading Wade for the #1/Rose because they really want Beasley.

instead of an isolated management decision taking the focus off of the draft pick, i think the continued blunder that is the coaching search indicates management's intent to go a different direction than the one collin's wanted with the #1 pick. i think the coaching search continues because the excitement created amongst prospective coaches by the #1 pick is being tempered by pax's intention to pass on Rose and keep Hindrich at the helm. The only way that would be tolerable is if we trade the #1 for a proven star. in anticipation of the draft i'm just looking for some sort of sign that might indicate who they will pick... Hopefully I am wrong and Pax drafts Rose and then Tyrus Thomas breaks the record for career alley-oops.

6'7=big
15.4 points per game = offensive
10.2 rebounds per game
+ 22.3EFF

The organization and the fans like Udonis Haslem at the 4 as well. Much like the Bulls the Heat do not need to upgrade their bigs (Beasley) but need to address abysmal point guard play.
