Bad Coaching, Bad Managing, Bad Reporting
All wrapped up in one beat piece by the Sun-Times' Brian Hanley, still reeling from the loss of Scott Skiles, cozying up to the grittiest human being available.
There's so much stupid to address. John Paxson has "balked" at a trade package for Pau Gasol that would include Andres Nocioni, Tyrus Thomas, and Joakim Noah because Andres Nocioni is untouchable? I understand the Bulls are hellbent on making their past two lottery picks the least valuable youngsters in the NBA, despite solid (and superior to Nocioni) production in limited minutes, but both of them are considered throw-ins for a 27 year old power forward who doesn't rebound or defend well?
A frontcourt with Gasol and Ben Wallace would be eerily similar to the Chandler and Curry days. Only without the hope that Gasol and Wallace will grow out of their flaws, and everyone is a lot smaller. And the highly talented youth on the team gets traded away to make it happen. Jerry Krause never left.

oops.
Forgot to say, "Or Hanley is just reporting shaky rumors."
Can we get some Hinrich trade rumors started?
Ok, I'll start - Hinrich to the Heat for Jason Williams and a second rounder.
I think there are more holes on this team than Gasol can fill.
This trade might make sense under the following conditions: If 1) Deng was healthy and 2) the Bulls were, say, 30-11, instead of 16-25. In regards to the second condition, that team might conceivable be battling for the East's top seed and mortgaging the future production of Noah and Ty could at least be justifiable (if still harebrained).
You're right, Hot Shit: This is bad, bad, bad.
This is as mind boggling as when Wilbon reported that Wallace said he was playing too much.
I thin Bengo07 has a point. There is no need to mortgage the future to get into the eighth seed and a drubbing from the Celtics.
Interestingly, BenGo, if this team were 30-11, it would probably be because Noah, Thomas and Sefolosha were playing a lot. (Of course, this doesn't suggest that playing those guys more would have made the record that great. I'm assuming you guys know that, though.)
