That happens so often I can't be bothered(let alone angered) anymore. If anything, Nocioni played in Europe, which is more relevant than where he was born.
Either way, the offensive part is the lazy analysis for both players.
It (obviously) still bothers me. I considered the "Euro"-cuz-he-played-in-Europe bit, but American players who played in Europe don't get that label. Nocioni may have gained more notoriety with the national team too.
I thought "Right, how about a pseudo-rebounder and an inconsistent Euro for an All-Star?" was a description of Gasol.
Old joke about all international players being called Euros. I should probably drop it at this point, since it's not nearly as much of a problem as it once was. Though it probably still is among AOL readers.
According to Smith's logic, Gasol = "inconsistent Euro" + "pseudo-rebounder." Nocioni and Thomas can be pigeonholed (LAZILY) like that, so that's why the trade makes sense to him.

Wait, that's not Estonia? I'm confused...
I think the blue part is land.

I'd call Anthony Parker a Euro, if I still called anyone a Euro.
Take a look at nbablogs.info Almost all NBA blogs from each team.
