What is Kobe worth to the Bulls (and you as a fan?
As reported on True Hoop and other sites Kobe isn't happy in Lakerland. The Bulls are his rumored destination, so what would you give up for Kobe?
It would probably take Duhon, Gordon, Deng and Ty, Krappy
and a first rounder. (I think that something close to what we offered for Garnett last year, so God knows what superstars can get these days after the Celtics deal, for sure Kobe has more value than Garnett, but still.)
I don't know if I'd want to do that - Kobe might make us legitimate contenders this year, but I'm not sure we're that far away; I'd sure miss watching Ben, Ty and Deng play together.

Kobe, as good as he is, isn't worth that list of players. Gordon and Deng are only getting better. The Bulls are close to being Finals bound, but they are still short a few pieces or short in experience. As soon as the Baby Bulls drop the baby, they might have a shot.

I agree. There is probably nothing that the Bulls can give up that would be worth Kobe.
That, and I don't like Kobe. How long will he be happy here before he forces the Bulls to trade him somewhere else?
I'm not sure if even all those players salaries would be enough to match Kobe's 20 mil or so. Possibly a sign-and-trade with Gordon and Deng could bump theirs up to make it work, but barring that, I just don't think we have the big contracts to make it work. (I would make that deal, if and only if we got to keep Deng.)
Yeah, I think they should hold onto Deng (or at least value him higher based on potential). I think Kobe is likely to stay put because I believe the Lakers will luck out in that the Pacers will have to possibly accept less than face value for J.O. since he's officially indicated he wants out and has expressed a preferred destination. As far as the Bulls go, I'd like to see them get rid of Ben Gordon for a 2-guard that wasn't as much of a liability on the defensive end size-wise. Though the Bulls have been a good defensive team, I think we could get a SG that fit us a little better. How about Gordon and a Noce for Joe Johnson and a pick? The Hawks already have plenty of players either in their rookie or 1st/2nd year...Noce and Ben at least have a little more overall experience, plus they have playoff experience to boot.
Agree with anonymous above. A classic low post scorer is hard to find unless you are willing to give up too much (only stupid GM will do that). But there is no excuse to not upgrade the 2-guard position. The overall talent of the Bulls' front court players is good and there are no low-post scorers that they cannot defend. If the Bulls have a 2-guard that can guard his own counterpart (eg, Hamilton, Wade, Allen, Carter, Manu...)(Hinrich should be able to take care of the opposing point guard), they are my pick to win the East and the whole thing.
To get Kobe, try Thomas, Deng, Gordon, Sefolosha, and Noah. That's what it would realistically take, at least this summer. Would you do that?
